Google Launched Improved URL Removal Tool for Third-Party Sites

Today, Google launched improved version of its URL removal tool giving more control to webmaster about removing outdated cached snippets from pages as well complete removal of URL’s from Google index.

This tool will help to remove those URL’s from Google index which are actually removed from web as well giving more control to remove particular piece of content from the pages which have now modified contents (But still Google have old code snippet or paragraph).

So how this tool is different or what’s improved from the previous version, Google says that as soon as URL is entered, Google will check automatically and advice webmasters best solution to proceed for removing the contents. Further this tool will provide more features to remove outdated cached contents from Google index.

So what webmasters need to take care while requesting removals?

Request Outdated Content Removal – If you are requesting a particular piece of content to be removed from Google cache or snippets, make sure that page is updated with new contents before making request or the content being requested for removal is not visible on live page.

URL Removal Request – If you are requesting complete URL removal, make sure page return proper HTTP code to Google crawler like (403, 404 or 410) and also you should block in robots.txt or noindex the page with Meta tag. Once all these done, enter URL and if all fine, Google will direct for further removal instructions.

So to summarize, its improved version to request complete URL or outdated/modified piece of content with easy to user instructions and interface.
